Review – Fire Falling by: Elise Kova

Soldier… Sorcerer… Savior… Who is Vhalla Yarl?

Vhalla Yarl marches to war as property of the Solaris Empire. The Emperor counts on her to bring victory, the Senate counts on her death, and the only thing Vhalla can count on is the fight of her life.

As she grapples with the ghosts of her past, new challenges in the present threaten to shatter the remnants of her fragile sanity. Will she maintain her humanity? Or will she truly become the Empire’s monster?

Fire Falling is the second book in the Air Awakens Series.

– Fire Falling

An amazing second installment in this wind-whipping series! I super enjoyed getting to see more of the kingdom and learn about other cultures in the world.

I was so happy how Vhalla and Aldrik’s story progressed. I honestly thought we would have to wait forever since there are five books and the author could drag out the relationship. But, she did not! However, with that being said it also makes me nervous for future books. Side note: still absolutely love Baldair and need a whole spin-off with him as the main character, absolutely yes please!

I was super happy with our side characters… especially the fact that we get to see more of Daniel and Craig. Yes, please! I feel like Daniel though gets a little short changed in this one. I continue to adore his character and I wish the author would have dragged out some of the scenes with him a bit more.

The ending was literally a cliff hanger, pun intended. Definitely a heart-breaker and you cannot help but need to dive right into the next book. Onto book three I go…
