Review – Icebreaker by: Hannah Grace

Anastasia Allen has worked her entire life for a shot at Team USA.

A competitive figure skater since she was five years old, a full college scholarship thanks to her place on the Maple Hills skating team, and a schedule that would make even the most driven person weep, Stassie comes to win.

No exceptions.

Nathan Hawkins has never had a problem he couldn’t solve. As captain of the Maple Hills Titans, he knows the responsibility of keeping the hockey team on the ice rests on his shoulders.

When a misunderstanding results in the two teams sharing a rink, and Anastasia’s partner gets hurt in the aftermath, Nate finds himself swapping his stick for tights, and one scary coach for an even scarier one.

The pair find themselves stuck together in more ways than one, but it’s fine, because Anastasia doesn’t even like hockey players…right?

Yep, 5er. Absolutely adored this beyond perfect romance. How could you not think sparks would fly between a perfectly in control figure skater, and an extremely hot, built, and supportive hockey player?!  Nate and Stassie give you literally all the feels in this spicy, but fairy tale story.

“‘What if I like it when you’re loud?’
‘Do something to make me scream then, Hawkins.'”

-Pg. 159

Nathan Hawkins is seriously and epically wonderful. Not only is he hot AF, huge, and athletic, he is also an amazing friend, brother, and role model. There’s nothing about this dude I didn’t like reading in this story.  Anastasia is no different. She may be a planner and snarky, but for perfectly good reasons. She knows what she wants and what she needs to do personally to get there.  I shipped for these two so hard. Their relationship is spicyyyy and I loved it.

I also loved our posse of guys. Seriously love alllll of them for different reasons. I know this is a “series” so I’ll be curious who we’ll see next and whether there’s some story overlap with Robbie and Lola, Henry, JJ, Russ… oh man I’d be excited for them all though. They all brought something perfect to the story.

Overall, this was a perfect romance that brought all the heat, all the angst, and all the good feels. Cannot wait to see what Hannah Grace puts out next.
