Review – These Hollow Vows by: Lexi Ryan

Brie hates the Fae and refuses to have anything to do with them, even if that means starving on the street. But when her sister is sold to the sadistic king of the Unseelie court to pay a debt, she’ll do whatever it takes to get her back—including making a deal with the king himself to steal three magical relics from the Seelie court.

Gaining unfettered access to the Seelie court is easier said than done. Brie’s only choice is to pose as a potential bride for Prince Ronan, and she soon finds herself falling for him. Unwilling to let her heart distract her, she accepts help from a band of Unseelie misfits with their own secret agenda. As Brie spends time with their mysterious leader, Finn, she struggles to resist his seductive charm.

Caught between two dangerous courts, Brie must decide who to trust with her loyalty. And with her heart.

Oh man, nothing like having two princes fighting for your heart. These Hollow Vows was such an amazing start to a heart-stopping series. There is wonderful world building and back story weaved throughout.

I will say, the beginning scenes seem a bit rushed to me. The opening was so descriptive and wonderful and then I feel like we’re rushed into Faerie. However, from there the story really takes off. Brie was constantly stuck between and rock and hard place with no correct choice to make. There were so many deceptions from all sides. I really felt for her why she was making her journey in Faerie.

With the fellas, I’m all for a “good guy” persona, however I am team Finn in this one. Lies are a huge no no for me and I feel like Bash was never honest with Brie from the start. Whereas Finn may be cold, but he never sugar coated anything and told her his intentions from the start. I’ll be curious to see where this triangle ends.

Overall, such a wonderful start to an amazingly epic series. I am so excited to read the second book!
