Synopsis: Jenna Kingsley has a gift. She knows things. With a simple touch she can pick up personal information from jewelry or objects. While at a neighbor’s party, a voice mesmerizes her. Jenna is momentarily frozen as a ring is placed in her hand. White electricity surges through her and a dire prediction is made. “It’s like Romeo and Juliet. You’re going to break my heart.”
From the moment they meet Jenna is enchanted and entranced with Reece Walton. She’s thrilled to learn he’s spending the summer two houses away from hers. Every moment they spend together is magical. But she can’t get the prediction out of her mind. As the summer draws to a close and secrets are revealed, can Jenna get past the fear of being left with a broken heart to live in the prophecy?
Thoughts: Heart Waves doesn’t waste any time getting right into the story and I like that about a book. It’s books like this where I instantly fall in love with the romance and all the characters. Once I started this book, I totally fell in love with it and read it so quickly. It’s full of amazing romance, awesome friends, secrets, and real life.
There’s so much more I want to know about both Jenna and Reece. Jenna has powers… she can touch an object and feel its energy, know things about the person who holds the object. As the story delves on it seems Jenna is only getting stronger, but I feel as if we only have scratched the surface with her. The same goes for her love, Reece. I loved Reece right away. He’s sweet, caring, and protective. Yet I couldn’t help but keep feeling he’s hiding something. That just may be another reason why I like him because he has secrets and I’m always drawn to my tormented, secretive boys.
The ending… though good and sweet… still left me wanting more. I want to learn more about Reece’s friend Tyler. I want to learn more about Jenna. And, mostly I want to see where Jenna and Reece’s relationship goes. I’m only hoping for the best… but you never know. Definitely loved this book and cannot wait to dive into the second one!
