A sports romance, set in Ireland, with coming of age, dark topics, a hilarious friend group, and a spicy romance… UM YES. Hello, please put in coach. I am so happy I started The Boys of Tommem series because I loved Johnny and Shannon so much.
I just wanted to hug Shannon so many times throughout this book. The things she has to go through is something no 16-year-old should ever have to suffer and my heart hurt for her so much. When Johnny came literally crashing into her life, it was everything. Watching her protective shell crack piece by piece with him gave me all the hope.
“So don’t put a wall up between us, not when you’ve already let me climb over it.””
Then, JOHNNY KAVANAUGH. Bulldoze all day baby because I am HERE FOR IT. I couldn’t have loved Johnny more if I tried. His athleticness, focus, strength, being a great friend and leader, being that solid place for Shannon all just wrapped up to make him perfect. Also… the moment with Johnny and his father at the end of Binding 13… /cries/ my heart. 🥹
I was rooting for Johnny and Shannon throughout. Like please crash together and help each other be whole. All the obstacles these two had to overcome made it such an intense yet wonderful read. Plus, their friend group is amazing and had me laughing so many times. I cannot wait to read Joey & Gibsie’s stories!!
