Review – Sweet Reckoning by: Wendy Higgins

It’s time.

Evil is running rampant and sweet Anna Whitt is its target. Nobody knows when or how the Dukes will strike, but Anna and her Nephilim allies will do anything necessary to rid the earth of the demons and their oppressive ways.

The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous—especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting. When the Duke of Lust sends Anna’s great love, Kaidan Rowe, to work against her, Anna must decide how much she’s prepared to risk.

In the most sensual and fast-paced installment yet, Sweet Reckoning brings all the beloved Neph together one last time to fight for their freedom.

All the feels! Just all the gosh darn feels. Wendy Higgins, I could not be more proud of the end of this series. Am I sad as heck that it’s over, you better believe it but it was absolutely one amazing series. Sweet Reckoning just hits every soft and hard spot in my heart. The perfect ending in every way.

“You’re my dream. My only dream.”

It’s amazing when an author can create a gang and keep them together through out the series. I have grown to love each and every character (mostly the Nephs) that we meet. I adore Blake. I adore Marna and Gin. I adore Kope and Z. I adore Jay and Patti. Mostly though, I adore and have loved Anna and Kaidan. All of these characters have gone through so many fun moments and so many intense moments.

I’ve said this before but Anna is one my favorite protagonists, ever. She starts off so sweet and so innocent in Sweet Evil then by the end she is a whole new person but still keeping that innocence. Then with Sweet Peril and Sweet Reckoning she grows into a not only a stronger person, but a stronger woman and I couldn’t be happier with her character. On her other side, Kaidan Rowe who like Anna easily is on top as one of my favorite book boyfriends. Kaidan is hot, and sexy, and intense, and protective, and so what the kid was dealt a rotten hand and acted on it, but it has made him become one of the best guys in the whole dang world. I still want my own Kaidan and hell, maybe even I’ll name a son that! I couldn’t be happier with these two characters and where they’ve ended up. Easily, one of my favorite book couples.

When I read Sweet Evil all that time ago, I remember it instantly becoming a favorite book. I remember the angst I felt when we weren’t sure the second book would even make it to publication. Now that I have read the final book in the series, I could not be happier. Easily one of my favorite series overall. Sweet Reckoning is amazing in every way, the writing, the story line, and the characters. Though I’m sad for the journey to be over, my heart could not be happier.
