Review – White Hot Kiss by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

One kiss could be the last.

Seventeen-year-old Layla just wants to be normal. But with a kiss that kills anything with a soul, she’s anything but normal. Half demon, half gargoyle, Layla has abilities no one else possesses.

Raised among the Wardens—a race of gargoyles tasked with hunting demons and keeping humanity safe—Layla tries to fit in, but that means hiding her own dark side from those she loves the most. Especially Zayne, the swoon-worthy, incredibly gorgeous and completely off-limits Warden she’s crushed on since forever.

Then she meets Roth—a tattooed, sinfully hot demon who claims to know all her secrets. Layla knows she should stay away, but she’s not sure she wants to—especially when that whole no-kissing thing isn’t an issue, considering Roth has no soul.

But when Layla discovers she’s the reason for the violent demon uprising, trusting Roth could not only ruin her chances with Zayne…it could brand her a traitor to her family. Worse yet, it could become a one-way ticket to the end of the world.

Such a killer ending. I just want to curl up in a ball or go search the streets. I even want to blare Paradise City through my speakers. Ever since Jennifer mentioned a book about gargoyles, I’ve been patiently waiting and I can happily say it’s lived up to every expectation and standard I’ve held it to.

When you have two love interests in a book… It always starts a war. You either have a clear winner or two boys you simply cannot choose between. With White Hot Kiss, it worked a little different for me. Let me start off by saying that I am team Roth… Oh hell hotness, yes. Yet, at the same time I absolutely adore Zayne and he’s everything I normally fall for in book boyfriend. So that being said, I love both boys but I cannot help lean towards Roth because of everything sexy and amazing he is. Although, if something were to happen for Zayne and Layla, I wouldn’t be disappointed. Get my drift? Two sexy fellas!!

With Layla, lets be honest it has got to be hard to grow up and get hot feelings yet not be able to act on them. Then you grow up with a sexy adorable best friend and then meet hottest of hotness demon… it only equals trouble for her. I absolutely adored watching Layla go through this book. I love her strength and her fight and there were so many times I wanted to hug her too. Cannot wait to see where Layla goes in future books.

With the concept of gargoyles… yeah, Jennifer L. Armentrout didn’t only hit it out of a the park, but she broke a windshield, too. The cover first off is absolutely hot and sexy! Plus, everything about this story just had me hanging on and needing to read more. Then the ending just killed me and had me begging for the next book. You definitely do not want to miss this epic book.
