Synopsis: Pretending to be in love has never felt so sexy.
Brent Mason and Hayden Winstead can’t stand each other. She plans exclusive parties for her rich family’s charities. He’s a rough and tumble cop who rigs explosives for a living. Could two people be any less suited for conversation? They think not and prefer to keep it that way.
Unfortunately, their two best friends are deeply, disgustingly in love. Forced together, the mutual attraction simmering beneath the surface of Brent and Hayden’s non-relationship grows with every argument until it explodes into a scintillating night of mind-blowing sex. And it won’t be the last, as far as Brent’s concerned.
Hayden has a secret, though. Her father’s company is relying on a merger to save them from financial ruin, and only Hayden’s marriage to the CEO’s wealthy son can secure the deal. If she’s to protect her family, she’ll have to forget Brent. And he has no intention of being forgotten.
Tessa Bailey, you never fail to impress and I am never ever let down with one of your deliciously sexy stories. Asking For Trouble covers all the bases, there’s uncovering secrets, playful banter, family drama, and of course burning through the pages passion. Opposites definitely attract in this one.
With these stories not only do I get my dose of blushing but I always end up falling in love with all of our main characters. We first meet Hayden “duchess” Winstead around the group of familiar friends we all know and love, and of course miss I-can-play-games-better-than-the-boys is firing right at Brent Mason. These two heat up the instant we meet them. Hayden comes from a wealthy family, lives on the Upper West Side and dresses the part to go with it. Brent on the other hand is an explosives cop and a family man to boot. These two couldn’t be more opposite, but watching them literally go at each other shot sparks all over the place.
What I also love about Tessa Bailey’s stories is we always get to see past characters we know and love, and I adore how they’re all a close knit group with tons of good times and energy. In this story with Hayden and Brent (love the names by the way). I adore watching these two uncover each other’s secrets. Love watching these two break each other right open. Tessa Bailey is by far queen of perfectly sexical (yep I made it up — trademark it) fairy tales stories. I absolutely loved Asking For Trouble and cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next.
I'm also a huge fan of Tessa Bailey's. She's hooked me from the very begining with Derek from Protecting What's His and Troy from His Risk to Take. Can't wait to read this newest addition to the Line of Duty series!
