Thoughts: Let me start off by staying I absolutely love the cover of The Iron Locket. I love the fact that it’s green, that Aiofe is there beautiful and strong, and that there’s a knight. Overall it’s a stunning cover. It definitely drew me in. Also, I absolutely love the concept of anything related to faerie and faerie worlds, so that sucked me in as well. I have to admit it took me some time to get into the story but when it started to pick up, for me it was one exciting adventure.

So I’m kind of ashamed to admit, when I first met Kane I completely was hoping for a Kane + Aiofe shippage. But, alas if you read the book you will laugh at me big time for that. However that being said, I really loved Kane’s character. He was actually my favorite. His blonde hair and bright blue eyes, plus he has the whole brooding betrayer bad boy going for him. Really loved his character and hope to see more of him in the future.

Aiofe was only part of the lead characters. The other being Arthur and we meet Arthur first. This is the part that wasn’t clicking for me. I’m not sure if it was that I never really got into historical things (like the knights of the round table) or if it was just the story hadn’t picked up enough pace for me yet. Also for some reason I kept picture Arthur as some old, scruffy king… not sure why. That being said, when we meet Aiofe everything started to quickly pick up for me. Aiofe is beautiful and strong. I love her strength and her fight. With the romance, there was definitely an instant spark with Arthur and Aiofe and I do like them together. However, I felt there was no build up or development in their relationship. It all seemed very rushed, yet I did like the sexy chemistry of them.

Moving on, the writing in the story is done very well and I commend Samantha for weaving the two worlds together so well. Plus her idea of raising knights from the dead was super creative, I really liked it. I will admit though, as I said when I talked about Arthur, I had a hard time getting into this one. For some reason the beginning I guess wasn’t what I expected? It took me about half way through the book to really get into it and want to keep flipping the pages. Now remember, that is just my opinion… Everyone’s is different! That being said the last about 30% of the book was absolutely awesome. Lots of action, secrets, sacrifices and the epilogue was a killer! It definitely made me want the second book ASAP! Because, with an ending like that all that pops in my head is “heartbreak”!
