Synopsis: The girl next door never looked so good…
For Cameron McKenzie, Chloe Dawson has always just been his younger sister Jane’s best friend—a pesky annoyance who followed him around and acted like he hung the moon. It isn’t until Jane’s wedding to her firefighter beau Chris that Chloe reappears in his life…and she isn’t pesky or annoying anymore. In fact, the beautiful Chloe tempts him beyond reason. But Cam knows he’s damaged goods—not nearly good enough for Lone Pine Lake’s resident good girl.
Chloe’s always dreamed of a future with the dark, brooding Cam, and after they share an explosive kiss, she wonders if her dream could be coming true. Cam’s never stuck around his hometown for long, though, so she makes him an offer: one sweet summer romance with no strings attached. This good girl’s ready for an adventure…one that just might end up lasting a lifetime.
Karen Erickson lives in central California with her husband, three kids, one dog and too many cats. Being a romance writer and bringing her characters to life is her greatest dream come true.
– If you could be any Disney Princess, which would you be?
Giselle from Enchanted. I liked how wide-eyed and cheery she always was. Plus she has James Marsden AND Patrick Dempsey after her. Ha ha ha… Oh, and I’ll say Cinderella just because she was my daughter’s favorite princess for years.
– Where is your favorite place to take a vacation?
Hawaii! I NEED to go back. It’s been 10+ years! My husband and I were married on Maui. 🙂
– What is your favorite book you’ve read so far this year?
Oh wow, that’s a tough one. I haven’t had much time to read lately because I’ve been writing so much!
– What is your favorite quote/lyrics?
I have a playlist that I listened to when I wrote TEMPTING CAMERON and there are quite a few songs on it that have the best. Lyrics. Ever. A favorite is the song Spinning by Zero 7 (I have mad love for Zero 7 and Sia). The song fits brooding Cam perfectly. Sample of lyrics:
Was it loneliness that brought you here
Broken and weak
Was it tiredness that made you sleep
Have you lost your will to speak
– What are three things you have in your purse right now?
Loose change that makes me nuts
– If you could have any super power, what would it be?
Teleportation! I think that would be the coolest thing EVER. Just hit a button and bam, you’re where you want to be.
– Tattoos or Piercings? Tattoos… 😉
– Silence or Noise? Noise
– Lips or Eyes? Eyes (OMG that was a tough one I wanna say both!)
– Paranormal or Contemporary? Contemporary!
– Chinese food or Mexican food? Chinese food mmmm….
Thoughts: With a sexy successful brooding fella, a tragic event, and a super sweet romance… how can you not love Tempting Cameron? There’s a few things that always make me love a book and with Tempting Cameron some of my favorite aspects are there. I always love a main character with a huge heart and a brooding sexy man is always a must. Also, I always love when family plays a decent role in the story, because family means so much to me. One final thing I always love is tragic, dark events and betrayals. In some way, Tempting Cameron has all of those and Karen mixed them together in a super sweet way.
With our characters, I loved that Chloe was described as the “town princess” and how that was she was actually good-hearted versus a snob or some over-confident chick. How Chloe was all good from the inside out, a pretty elementary school teacher, yet she still knows how to have fun. Then there’s Cameron… hot name and sexy green eyes alert! Cam, has been running away from his home life and I loved watching him actually finding a reason to stay; finding a reason to actually not be a playboy. Chloe and Cam’s relationship is literally a sweet and sexy adventure. One other person I must shout out to is Mac. I absolutely adore Mac and want much, much more of him!
Overall, if you want a book with a super sweet romance with some sexiness thrown in there, a beautiful lake town setting, and a happily ever after with a couple who are meant for each other… definitely give this one a shot!
