Synopsis: My name is Beatrice. When I was born, I was blessed with the Sight. I was immediately removed from my parents and enrolled in the Institution. At the age of twelve, I had my first true vision, earning my raven’s wings. And when I turned seventeen, one of my visions came true. Things haven’t been the same since.
The Institution depends on me to keep the City safe from our enemy, the Dreamcatchers, but I’m finding it harder to do while keeping a secret from everyone, including my best friend Gabe. It is a secret that could put us all in danger. A secret that could kill me and everyone close to me.
But the enemy has been coming to me in my dreams, and I think I’m falling in love with him. He says they’re coming. He says they’re angry. And I think I’ve already helped them win.

She completed her very first manuscript during her graduate studies, and by the end of the program, she had completed two more.
Stephanie is quick to tell anyone that she’s a born and raised Philadelphian, and her heart will always belong there. She moved to Baltimore with her husband, and they’ve been living there for the last five years with their doggie, Sailor, and their rabbit, Buns (aka “T Sizzle).

“In order to stay prepared, we will be introducing live rounds to the training games.”
The collective breathing in the room stops.
Did I hear her correctly?
“We will be using Citizen convicts as our targets, and they will be armed.” The Keeper pauses as the tension in the air becomes crisper and more taut. “We have, up until this point kept our Seers under protection for the good of the City. But what good is it if we are protecting Seers who aren’t strong enough to protect in return? You need to be able to take a life. To kill. To protect the Citizens.”
“Is she serious?” Connie whispers, a waver in her words.
“It is a new day! We are at war, and now, more than ever, we need to be strong! We will begin to use live rounds tomorrow. Get a good night’s rest, and remember, it is for the good of the City.” The microphone clicks off and the Meeting Room silent.
The wave of whispers starts somewhere in the back, and by the time it reaches us, everyone is talking. Connie is freaking out and has reduced herself to tears. Mae is trying to keep Connie calm with reassuring pats on the back. Gabe reaches for my hand and when he find it, he holds it without saying a word about anything.

– Review –
Dark. Unknowing. Trained killers and it’s a kill or be killed world. Luminosity literally sucked me into its darkness right from the first line. It has such a vivid opening that instantly pulls you into this terrifying story and I loved every dark and twisted moment of it.
