Synopsis: Milo Mitchell’s life used to be charmed, but that was before her family dissolved, she went a little crazy, and her best friends started acting more like strangers. Spending Saturday morning in a treehouse with a stun gun for company and a herd of deer for friends is the only exciting thing in her life…until she shoots a fawn and finds her dart stuck in a guy.
Her gorgeous victim is dressed in a Brioni tux and armed with a hanky. He has no idea who or where he is. Afraid her dart caused his amnesia, Milo takes him in, names him Nick, and vows to help him solve his mystery. Soon the pair find Nick’s face in a newspaper obituary, and Nick beings to have strange, ethereal memories of Milo–who is sure she’s never met him. Suddenly Nick knows things he shouldn’t know and is doing things he shouldn’t do. When the Department of Defense shows up, Nick and Milo run–toward a shocking conclusion that could destroy both their worlds.
Thoughts: At first I admit, I wasn’t really sure where this book was going to take me. Then we meet Nick, and story completely takes off from there and I could not put it down. I finished this book in hours. It’s mysterious, thrilling, and the whole time I just kept wanting to turn the pages so I could solve the mystery of Nick. With this being Ella James’ first work I’ve read, I am blown away and I cannot wait to get my hands on book two!
We start off with Milo Mitchell who after losing her father, continues his work of hanging in her tree house and tagging deer. Then one day her dart hit homes, except instead of a deer on the ground there’s a gorgeous boy about her age. Nick wakes up but appears to have no memory of who he is. Yet he remembers the world and how things work and most important… he remembers Milo. Soon the power in the whole town shuts down and the Department of Defense starts knocking at Milo’s door. Nick and Milo soon find their selves in trouble they couldn’t have imagined.
With our two main characters, Milo is just your average, beautiful girl who has her own hobbies yet once she meets Nick she becomes so strong for him. She’s always there for him and wanting to help him… I loved watching her have that heart of gold with him and never giving up. Then on the other side is Nick. He intrigued me so much. First he is sexy as hell, then he shows up in the book wearing a tux, and after that he can ride a motorcycle like a stunt double! Plus, while he’s trying to figure out the mystery of himself he’s so sweet and innocent… I just wanted to kiss him! Nick is definitely a character worth falling for, and by the end you cannot help but love him!
The action in Here picks up so quick and takes you on a ride until the end. I literally and dying for the next book with the way Here ended! It’s one of those books that just keeps building up and getting better and better than then BAM you hit the end and you just want more. I am so excited to see where Ella takes this series and I cannot wait to read more by her!
