Shadowfell
by: Juliet Marillier
Expected Release: September 11th, 2012

Synopsis: Its name is spoken only in whispers, if the people of Alban dare to speak it at all: Shadowfell. The training ground for rebels seeking to free their land from the grip of the tyrannical king is so shrouded in mystery that most believe it to be a myth.

But for Neryn, Shadowfell’s existence is her only hope. She is penniless, orphaned, and utterly alone – and concealing a treacherous magical power that will warrant her immediate enslavement should it be revealed. She finds hope of allies in the Good Folk, fey beings whom she must pretend she cannot see and who taunt her with chatter of prophecies and tests, and in a striking, mysterious stranger, who saves her from certain death but whose motives remain unclear. She knows she should not trust anyone with her plans, but something within her longs to confide in him.

Will Neryn be forced to make the dangerous journey alone? She must reach Shadowfell, not only to avenge her family and salvage her own life, but to rescue Alban itself.

  • Days of Blood and Starlight – Firstly, I think this cover blows the first book’s cover out of the water. The cover for his book is freaking stunning. I also, really loved the first book and I cannot wait to see where Karou will end up in this sequel.
  • Shadowfell – This book sounds like a Maria V. Synder or Samantha Young book, and I absolutely adore adventures in magical worlds. I have a feeling I’ll really enjoy Shadowfell and cannot wait to read it.
  • The Torn Wing – I loved The Faerie Ring so much. I cannot wait to read more of Tiki’s story. Plus, I need way more Rieker! I ADORE him.

  1. I am DYING for Days of Blood and Starlight. Daughter of Smoke and Bone was one of my top best reads last year. I was so blown away. I'll definitely be picking Book 2 up the second it's available. I've never heard of Shadowfell but it sure sounds like a good read. I'll have to check that one out. *sigh* I haven't even read The Faerie Ring yet (don't hate me LOL) so I can't say much for The Torn Wing, but I hope to read both books. Eventually! *runs away*Wonderful wonderful picks! <33Jessirae @ Words, Pages, and BooksMy WoW
