The Manipulator
I can manipulate the emotions of anyone who lets me.
I will make you hurt, make you cry, make you laugh and sigh.
But my words don’t affect him. Especially not when I plead for him to leave.
He’s always there, watching and waiting.
And I can never look away.
Not when I want him to come closer.
The Shadow
I didn’t mean to fall in love.
But now that I have, I can’t stay away.
I’m mesmerized by her smile, by her eyes, and the way she moves.
The way she undresses…
I’ll keep watching and waiting. Until I can make her mine.
And once she is, I’ll never let her go.
Not even when she begs me to.
While not required, it is highly suggested to read the novella, Satan’s Affair, first.
This book was previously banned on Amazon due to the trigger warning. Please read reviews or go to the author’s website.

“They may have made that rose powerless by clipping its thorns, but I will gladly show them a rose is still fucking deadly when it’s shoved down their throat.
I am in shock. Going into this book I knew it was the darkest of romances and I knew the trigger warnings made me slightly nervous to read what was within the pages. But, my God. I never expected the story we’re given to blow me completely away. Haunting Adeline is unlike anything I have ever read and the raw emotions it pulls from you are horrifically gripping.
All I want to do is break her. Shatter her into pieces. And then arrange those pieces to fit against my own. I don’t care if they don’t fit—I’ll fucking make them.
Zade (freaking) Meadows. Holy anti-hero, possessive, dominant, sexy, amazing beast of a man. The way he slowly creeps into your brain and makes you love him is just one of the many things I enjoyed about this book. You easily go from “oh this is fcked up” to “omg please fck me” because ladies and gentlemen, Zade will absolutely make you go feral.
The trigger warnings are not to be taken lightly. I was blown away by an amazing plot that I did not expect, however, that does not downplay the horrific things depicted in Haunting Adeline. This book is not for the faint of heart and believe me when I tell you it is pitch black. However, it is addicting, thrilling, enthralling, and one heck of a ride. H.D. Carlton outdid herself and I am salivating to start the next book.
