Apollyon by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

Synopsis: Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.

Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.

The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.

Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.

Thoughts: I should just write out reviews ahead of time that just gush the words amazing, brilliant, love, torture, kick-ass, and of course perfect. Because, that is how I feel every time I read a Jennifer L. Armentrout book. Every single one is filled with perfect ups and heartbreak downs. Filled with thrilling fight scenes, laughs, and amazing characters. Apollyon is everything us fans hope for and more. There’s nothing not to love. Plus I absolutely adore each and every simple yet beautiful cover. Especially this one with the fiery orange gorgeousness… I’m instantly reminded of Alex.

Alex, since I met her, has always been one of my favorite fictional girl crushes. I love her sense of humor, her now lethal fighting skills, the fact that she’s sweet and spicy and overall that she loves so completely and always does what she believes in right.

Then there’s my darling Deacon who says things like this:

“Whatever you do, don’t break my brother’s heart. You are his world. And you leave it, it will destroy him.”

How can you not love Deacon and his wise words and fun manner? I’ve loved him from book one and I still heart him!

Then there is the man Deacon speaks of, his brother. The boy that is basically my top book boyfriend… Aiden. Gods this sexy, sexy, loyal, loving man. Lets not forget to mention his perfect precision hot fighting skills. His amazing and intense gray eyes. Plus in Apollyon, his love for Alex just slayed my heart ten times over. I was literally jumping out of my skin with happiness to finally see these two fight for each side-by-side.

The story as a whole keeps building. Tension on top of tension  More death is raining upon everything. And, love is holding everything together. This has been one of my favorite series from the beginning. I have never given up hope in it and each book just proves to be more outstanding than the last. If you love this series as much as I do, Apollyon will not disappoint you. The ending just makes me beg for the last book but at the same time dread it coming. There is so much hope I have for this last book and so much I cannot wait to see how it will end. So everyone go out and buy Apollyon and love it and savor it like I did!
