Synopsis: Never challenge a cowboy in the courtroom…

Surveying the proposed site for a high-end golf course should have been a breeze for spunky Landscape Architect Sophie Smith. But when this born-and-bred city girl is suddenly—and quite literally—swept off her feet by a sexy cowboy on horseback, she realizes that the country life has some serious (and seriously steamy!) possibilities. That is, until she finds out exactly who her smokin’-hot wrangler really is.

Cowboy and Tribal lawyer Jack Lodge is desperately trying to block the development. And if that means playing hardball—and being every inch the shark lawyer—so be it. But Sophie is a distraction he didn’t expect. A distraction that makes his blood burn.

Two different worlds. Two opposing sides. And when they finally give into the exquisite temptation, the consequences will shake the foundations of both of their lives…

About the Author: USA Today Bestselling Author Rebecca Zanetti has worked as an art curator, Senate
aide, lawyer, college professor, and a hearing examiner – only to culminate it all in stories about Alpha males and the women who claim them. She writes dark paranormals, romantic suspense, and sexy contemporary romances.

Growing up amid the glorious backdrops and winter wonderlands of the Pacific Northwest has given Rebecca fantastic scenery and adventures to weave into her stories. She resides in the wild north with her husband, children, and extended family who inspire her every day–or at the very least give her plenty of characters to write about.

Thank you to Jena for having me over today. I loved the questions and had a lot of fun answering them!

SS: Thank you for stopping by and answering all my questions! 🙂

1)So, a lawyer cowboy, eh? Where’d you come up with the idea for that?

LOL! I’m a lawyer in the Pacific Northwest, and I’ve seen more than one sexy guy take off his cowboy hat before walking into a courtroom. In fact, thinking about it now, during one month a while back, there was a guy who wore a black hat (in the hallway, of course), who was long and lean…and may look a little like Jake Lodge in AGAINST THE WALL I saw the other lawyer several times in the hallway that month, but our paths never crossed. Then he was gone. I wonder who he was?

2) Do you prefer writing paranormal or contemporary better?

That’s like asking me if I like chocolate or coffee better. I’d cry if I had to give one of them up. The paranormals give an author some freedom to create a new reality, while the contemporaries give an author leeway to delve into our reality, often finding both humor and tension there. Both genres explore people, emotion, feelings, and love…so I find they cross pretty easily. People are people…whether they’re cowboys or vampires.

SS: Love that last line! So true!

3) I saw a fun fact on your site that SURFING was a credit in college?! Seriously? Was it the most popular class ever? Lol!

Ha! Yes, it was a hugely popular class, and it was taught by a guy who could easily be on any billboard. But you know what, surfing is kind of hard. We had to get four PE credits at Pepperdine, and surfing and sailing were the most popular classes. I did actually ride a wave (okay…it was a mini-wave), but hey, I didn’t fall for a few minutes. At least, it felt like a few minutes.

SS: PSH. I’d be there for the instructor. No lies.

4) If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? Why?

Man, that’s a tough question! Well…first I’d like to go back to Italy. I toured Europe in college, and I loved Italy. My husband toured Italy in college, and he loved it. (Plus, he has tons of family there). But…we’ve never gone there together. So, I think we’d have a great time exploring together. We live in the Pacific NW, so when we vacation, it’s always to beach with some sun.

5) Anything else you’d like to tell us?

Okay – I loved the ‘about me’ section of this website, so I thought I’d do that. About me:
• I also have green eyes
• If someone says ‘go left or right,’ I’d always to right (isn’t that odd?)
• I have a letter from my husband that he sent to me when we were 6 years old (no, we weren’t high school sweethearts—we met back up in our twenties).
• I link songs to my books
• I have way too many shoes
• I had a total ball with this interview. Thank you!
So, let me ask this: What’s the best class/workshop/seminar you’ve ever taken? (Yes, surfing counts).

SS: Best class? Well we have nothing close to surfing. We have a ballet class but I never took it. My best class would probably be my technology class I took, as nerdy as that sounds. But, it was SUPER easy and SO much fun. We basically played on MACs all class and made videos, took pictures, etc. But at the same time I learned so many awesome tricks and tips for using them in classrooms… so it was awesome.

From The Author: I’d like to give away an AGAINST THE WALL coffee mug and spiral notebook to one randomly chosen commenter here. There’s also an overall blog tour prize of a Kindle Fire that will go to one lucky commenter. Have a fantastic week!
