Private Practice by: Samanthe Back

Synopsis: He’ll teach her how to bring a man to his knees…

Dr. Ellie Swan has a plan: open her practice in tiny Bluelick, Kentucky, so she can keep an eye on her diabetic father, and make hometown golden-boy Roger Reynolds fall in love with her. But Ellie has a problem. Roger seeks a skilled, sexually adventurous partner, and bookish Ellie doesn’t qualify.

Tyler Longfoot only cares about three things: shaking his bad boy image, qualifying for the loan his company needs to rehab a piece of Bluelick’s history, and convincing Ellie to keep quiet about the “incident” that lands him on her doorstep at two a.m. with a bullet in his behind.

The adorable Dr. Swan drives a mean bargain, though. If sex-on-a-stick Tyler will teach Ellie how to bring a man to his knees, she’ll forget about the bullet. Armed with The Wild Woman’s Guide to Sex and Tyler’s lessons, Ellie is confident she can become what Roger needs…if she doesn’t fall for Tyler first.

Thoughts: The thing with Brazen titles is I can always expect a strong MC, a sexy fella, and an amazing story line. Private Practice totally covers that and more. It’s completely seductive with a strong female lead and a beyond sexy love interest and the story itself deals with hard work and difficult situations. Absolutely loved it!

I love how our MC, Ellie, comes back to her small town off the map for her father. Even though her father hasn’t treated her the best, she still cares and I really liked that trait about her. And on top of that, she’s such a hard worker. You can tell by the way she talks about “focusing” through medical school and then how running her business seems to come with ease. I adored watching her and Tyler grow to know each other.

Gods, I love Tyler! GREEN EYE ALERT! Aka, my favorite. Tyler is sexy as heck, he’s a bad boy with a good heart, but honestly I don’t see anything bad about him.

“…he’d stalked toward the door like a dark knight about to slay her dragon…”

Unf, yes. I love that he does construction not just that he builds things but that he takes things and restores them… places he actually cares about. He sticks up for his friends and protects people he cares about. I was totally rooting for Tyler as soon as he enters the story with a bullet in his butt. Totally love him!

I also love when characters surprise you. Melody was that character for me. I totally expected to hate her and ended up loving her in the end, which was a pleasant surprise.

Overall, I absolutely loved this book. Loved the opening, the entire story, and the perfect ending. If you’re a Brazen lover like me, Private Practice will definitely not disappoint at all! It will easily climb into your heart and having you sighing in all the right places. Sexy, fun, and completely lovable!

  1. Hi Jena! Thanks for reviewing PRIVATE PRACTICE. Hope it doesn't sound strange coming from the author, but I loved Tyler too! Well, I loved Ellie, of course, but I loved, LOVED Tyler. 🙂

  2. This was an awesome book. I am with you on loving Tyler. I usually find something annoying about the hero in a story, but not with Tyler. He is just the right kind of hero and Ellie is a lucky lady. This was a fun, enchanting book!

  3. Great interview, Sam, and if you ever find that Thai prescription, I'd like a heads up. As far as the book goes…love the premise, love a hero who restores stuff…especially a woman's libido…and I'm with Jena, green eyes are hot. MK.

  4. Lynne is playing coy. She just signed on to write her 20th Harlequin, so I think she knows a thing or two about writing sexay books! The classy kind…with heat AND heart.
