Blog Tour: Things I Can’t Forget

Synopsis: Kate has always been the good girl. Too good, according to some people at school—although they have no idea the guilty secret she carries. But this summer, everything is different…

This summer she’s a counselor at Cumberland Creek summer camp, and she wants to put the past behind her. This summer Matt is back as a counselor too. He’s the first guy she ever kissed, and he’s gone from a geeky songwriter who loved The Hardy Boys to a buff lifeguard who loves to flirt…with her.

Kate used to think the world was black and white, right and wrong. Turns out, life isn’t that easy…

I always fall in love with Miranda’s books. They’re always so real, have such great morals in them, and just make you fall in love with all the characters. Plus, I absolutely loved the camp setting. With the outdoors and the constantly having fun, and I know we can all think back to summer time journeys where amazing things happened before the school year! Things I Can’t Forget is an endearing book that you won’t  help but fall in love with.
I admit, I had to grow to love Kate. Actually, I found myself paralleling with Parker on my feelings towards Kate. Speaking of, yes Parker is back and I absolutely loved her in this one! That also means Will Whitfield is also back and unf love that boy! The one thing that swayed me away from Kate is how focused she is in her beliefs and religion. Don’t get me wrong, I’m totally all for believing in something and believing in it strongly, but Kate’s are so, so strong and religious that it’s alienating her from the world and people around her. Other than that, I loved watching her become a somewhat new person while still clinging to herself. I also loved her art aspect and how she immersed her feelings in her work because I tend to do the same thing and can so relate to that. Plus, watching her fall in love with the first boy she’s every kissed aka Matt Brown was just icing on the cupcake.
Matt Brown… Oh you sexy, guitar playing, ranch eating, no shoe wearing adorable creature you. Matt is that guy that you say “he’s one of a kind”… because he is. He’s patient, outgoing, caring, and he definitely lucked out in the look department. He’s one of those boys that everyone says “if he loves you he won’t care” and that’s exactly how Matt is. One of those perfect guys who completely accept the girl for who they are. Plus the ending with him just melted me into little pieces.
Overall, this is another fantastic and heart-felt contemporary from Miranda Kenneally. It is definitely different from her first two and not just in the religion aspect, but I enjoyed it just as equally. I cannot wait for Racing Savannah!!

Top Ten Places Sam Henry and Jordan Woods from CATCHING JORDAN have been caught Kissing

1. Waiting in the security line at the airport. TSA was not amused.

2. Study hall. When the teacher confronted them, Henry said, “But we’re studying!” The teacher replied, “What exactly are you studying?” And Henry said, “Anatomy.”

3. The “Kiss-Cam” at a Nashville Predators game. Henry and Jordan didn’t even notice, because they were kissing even before the cameras were trained on them.

4. On top of the Franklin city water tower. Yes, the police were called. But no charges were pressed, so all was okay. Don’t try this one at home!

5. The paint sample aisle at Home Depot. They were there to buy mulch for Jordan’s mom, so how they ended up in the paint sample aisle isn’t clear. You are free to try this one “at home.”

6. In the garage in the bed of her father’s truck. Her father subsequently dragged Henry out of the garage by the collar of his shirt.

7. At the automatic carwash following an afternoon of “mudding.” The carwash manager gave them a lecture stating, “This is a family establishment!”

8. Inside a tent in the camping section at Wal-Mart. They claimed they were “testing out the sleeping bags.”

9. In Jordan’s grandfather’s favorite La-Z-Boy recliner. Her grandfather subsequently dragged Henry out of the house by the collar of his shirt. Not because he kissed Jordan, but because he dared to sit in Gramps’ recliner.

10. At the movies. What’s sad is that they didn’t even make it into the theater. They started kissing out in the lobby and missed nearly all of Pitch Perfect.

  1. Lovely review! I don't know when I will buy and read Things I Can't Forget since I've bought a lot of books lately and still in difficulty of finding time to read them all, but I'll definitely buy it. Love Miranda's writing! And Sam and Jordan!! I will love reading anything about them! And poor Henry, always be dragged on his collar. Kkk…
